Create a Mensch

Cantor Paul Dorman, former “Director of B’nai Mitzvah Studies” at Stephen Wise Temple LA, has created a unique approach to preparing our young people, focusing on Jewish values, mitzvot and teaching the beauty of Judaism and Torah, not just how to memorize a few prayers that they’ll soon forget.

He has a terrific ability to meet the young people where they are. His unique style, focusing on responsibility, consistency and believing in yourself, not only prepares the young person beautifully for the service but also helps prepare them for life. “I teach and create MENSCHS”.

With Cantor Dorman you are getting the expertise of an ordained cantor who has mentored hundreds of young people. He has officiated and co-officiated many years of Temple and private B’nai Mitzvah services.

“I work with care because I care”.

He is expert at doing “traditional” or creating “totally unique” services and works closely with the young person and the family to make the entire journey truly meaningful, spiritual, and fun!

“Paul…What a fantastic service. So many people told me what a special event it was and how emotional it was. You were fun and funny and sang beautifully. Maya came through with flying colors.”

-Ron & Anat Schneider on the occasion of Daughter Maya’s Bat-Mitzvah

“I just wanted to reach out and tell you what a beautiful service you held on Saturday and how truly impressive it was to see Talia in her element and loving every minute of it. She was so proud of herself and that has everything to do with you and how you handled her. I can’t believe we will not be visiting you on a daily basis, but you will forever be in our thoughts as we reflect on what a beautiful day it truly was. I don’t think, I KNOW, she finally got it! Thank you,

– Michelle Sarraf on the occasion of Daughter Talia’s Bat-Mitzvah

“Julie and I wanted to say thank you again for helping the girls through their studies over the past 6 months.  We know that they can be a little ‘busy’ at times and we really appreciate your patience and guidance.  We think they did a great job on Saturday and we know that it is because of the hard work you put into your time with them. We were also very pleased that you were our Cantor on Saturday.  It gave the girls just a little more comfort knowing that you would be by their side on their big day.  You have a beautiful voice and your presence was a blessing for our family.

– Jay Gilberg on the occasion of their daughters dual bat-mitzvahs
